The European Commission has approved the planned amendment of the government decree regulating the site preparation works related to Paks II project. It means that – after submission of the construction permit – the licensing process can start, which can be continued by earthworks at the beginning of next year as well – informed János Süli, Paks, Minister for Paks II Investment. He said the pandemic situation made it difficult, but not impossible, to continue the work on Paks II project.
János Süli, minister without portfolio, is also committed to make the most of the development opportunities offered by the investment for Kalocsa and its region, it was told during a forum, organized by Club of Entrepreneurs of Kalocsa.
It is close to the ninety billion forints that the Hungarian side has drawn from the Russian credit line for the Paks II investment. However, most of the money used has already been repaid by the Hungarian government, meaning that no interest will have to be paid.
Minister János Süli said at a corporate executive forum organized by the Joint Venture Association and its partners, that the new units will bring back the investment and generate profits.
As KaloHírek reports that domestic entrepreneurs can join more and more tasks in Paks II project. Minister János Süli said that the construction of the service buildings and the regional development also offer opportunities. Paks II Zrt. on June 30, 2020 will submit the most complex application ‒ the one on the construction licence ‒ to the National Atomic Energy Authority.
The winner of the tender may contract with the Prime Minister’s Office for a period of 52 months.
